Intune – You can now inventory registry keys

If you are managing client devices with Intune, you already know that you can inventory these devices to know their physical details, from battery type or level to video controllers.

This inventory is done by implementing the Properties catalog configuration profile type.

Well, this profile has been updated to allow you to also inventory registry keys under the HKLM branch.

This is quite useful to validate if specific applications, settings or other configuration are deployed and their corresponding version.

To do so, create or update a configuration profile using the Properties catalog and add the Registry option

From there you can add up to 100 keys.

You can define a specific key path and value, or perform a recursive inventory under a specific key or finally look up for a value across keys.

Once done and the device has updated its configuration, the inventory will be reported under the Device\Tools\Device Inventory blade
