If you have been using the Entra ID portal (https://entra.microsoft.com/) to manage and assign licenses for Microsoft cloud services, you will have to use the M365 administration portal to do so starting September 1st, 2024.
Starting this date, the Entra ID Licenses blade will be deprecated.
If you are using group based licensing, this will be the same process; you will have to manage assignment from the M365 portal.
License management from the M365 portal is available under the Billing\Licenses blade.
As usual with M365 portal, you can still assign license when manually creating account from the portal (in case you are not syncing your AD mainly).
Group based assignment can be managed from the same blade for the corresponding subscription using the Groups tab – you can also still select which services from the subscription you want to get activated
