As you know, Azure has a feature called Azure Advisor to help you getting the most and securing your Azure resources.
Well, Azure Advisor has been updated to provide you a notification feature to send an email alert as soon as you have a new recommendation.
To start using it, logon to your Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com) and reach out the Advisor blade
You will see a banner to tell you you can now create Advisor Alerts or go to the Monitoring\Alerts section to create your Azure Advisor Alerts
When creating a new Advisor Alert you will be asked to:
- Select the subscription to be notified for; you can not create a single alert for multiple subscription
- The resource group where your resources are located (optional; if you don’t define it all resource groups – and as such all resources – will be covered by the notification)
- The type of recommendation: either by selecting a category/impact or the recommendation type
- Then (both are optional) the category and/or impact or the type of recommendation (depending of the selection at the previous option)
- Finally you have to name the rule and define the email address for receiving the notifications
