Few months ago, Microsoft has introduced the new Teams Premium License and announced some features (existing and new) will require this new Premium License.
Since April 2023, such license is required for using Live Translated Caption but this was not enforced.
Well, in July 2023, this license requirement will be enforced.
This means access to Live Translated Caption will be possible only for:
- Individual users that are licensed with a Teams Premium license
- Meeting attendees who attend a meeting where the meeting organizer is licensed with a Teams Premium license
Live captions (without translations) for meetings are unaffected by this change and continue to be available for all Microsoft Teams users.
