It is important to monitor the health of your workloads.
On Azure, this can be done by settings alerts to get notification or execute actions based on conditions.
It is now becoming easier to quickly enable a set of recommended alerts for your virtual machine running on Azure.
To do so, connect to your Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com/) and access the Virtual Machines blade or search for the virtual machine you want to get it enable
Then access the Alerts blade of your virtual machine and click on Enable recommended alert rules
When using the Enable recommended alert rules option you can configure thresholds and actions from a simple blade for the following counter:
- Percentage CPU usage
- Available memory
- Data and OS disks IOPS
- Network traffic
