SCCM – You can now manage client logging level from the console

This new option can be quite handy for SCCM administrator; with the latest release of System Center Configuration Manager Current Branch (SCCM CB) 1910, you can manage the client logging level for diagnostics from the administration console.

To enable/disable verbose diagnostic logging, just right click either on the device or the device collection you want to get the diagnostic level being managed and select Client Diagnostics\Enable or Disable verbose logging

The system will then confirm if the client is online or offline and ask you to confirm the activation of the diagnostic level

If the client is online and you confirm, a notification is sent to the SCCM client to enable the logging level

You can check it the notification has been sent and executed successfully using the Monitoring\Client Operations from the console; the operation is named Enable Verbose Logging or Disable Verbose Logging (depending of which action you have selected)

When you enable the verbose logging, the diagnostic file, called diagnostics.log,  is being generated and saved in c:\windows\ccm\logs (as any other SCCM client log files)
