Microsoft has just released the new Office 2019 client for Windows and Mac.
This new version includes many of the new capabilities and features which have been added on Office 365 Pro Plus.
It also introduced the Click to Run installation for Office client on-premises (aka not using Office 365 Pro Plus).
You can know more about this new version here https://products.office.com/en-us/get-started-with-office-2019
It available now for volume license customers and within the next few weeks for all the others.
The Install of Office 2019 failed on a clean install of windows 10 1803. The install fails because of the need for internet information services (IIS) 7.0 or higher with ASP .NET 4.0.
I guess Microsoft didn’t try installing it on a new install of the most up dated Windows 10.
Well I don’t know what you are installing but Office client never had a requirement for IIS; and Office 2019 does not change
See https://products.office.com/en-us/office-system-requirements#coreui-contentrichblock-1zj29rj no need for IIS; indeed .Net Framework is required but it has been the case for quite some time
