As you are probably aware now, Microsoft has been working on consolidating and moving all its Office 365 cloud services under the same domain umbrella cloud.microsoft (as announced in April 2023, see Office 365 – New unified domain for Office 365 services (hametbenoit.info)).
There has been already few services moved under this umbrella – such as health status portal or the O365 administration portal (see Office 365 – Transitioning to cloud.microsoft domain (hametbenoit.info)), now it is the turn for some end-users facing services: Office on the Web.
Excel, Word or PowerPoint on the web are now using the cloud.microsoft domain; don’t worry, there is no change for you and the move is being transparent to you.
Existing service URL’s for Excel, Word or PowerPoint will continue to be served while the move is being completed, a silent redirection will be set in place.
- Excel new URL: https://excel.cloud.microsoft.com
- PowerPoint new URL: https://powerpoint.cloud.microsoft.com
- Word new URL: https://word.cloud.microsoft.com
As Office 365 administrator, you need to ensure access to *.cloud.microsoft domain is authorized on your firewall configuration
