Azure – Azure RMS logging is now available and enabled for everyone for free

As you may know, Azure RMS has been able to track RMS protected document use (either authorized or unauthorized access).

But this capability was available only for premium users.

Today Microsoft has announced that the Azure RMS usage tracking feature is now available and activated for everyone for free. No action are required if you did not had the feature activated previously.

For those who already had the usage tracking enabled – and so configured to use your Azure storage account, you may need to download your previous logs as new logs are being stored within a Microsoft storage account.

To know what to do for downloading these logs, go to https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn529121.aspx?WT.mc_id=azurebg_email_Trans_1031_Azure_RMS_preconfigured#BKMK_AccesAndUseLogs and read the section If you manually enabled Azure RMS usage logging before the logging change February 22, 2016
