As you may already know, you can access to a SharePoint site using an iPad; at least using the Safari browser.
However, there is an important point to know. The iPad can ONLY access to a SharePoint site published on standard HTTP/HTTPS communication ports (80 or 443). If you set a different port for hosting your SharePoint web application, the iPad will not be able to locate the site
