After sometime of working with Teams, you may ended to have quite a few Teams and channels.
You probably already know that you can archive a Teams but many time you just want to archive a channel.
Until now, it was not possible to archive a channel. Well good news as it is now possible.
To archive a channel you need to be either an administrator or a channel owner.
As there is a SharePoint site associated with every Teams, when you archive a channel you can also make the corresponding folder as read-only.
Archived channel is being automatically hidden.
Channel members can still access by using the See all channel and read through the channel content, but cannot take any actions (like messaging, reacting or editing).
Archived channels have small icon shown on the right side.
If you want to unarchive a channel, just select the Restore channel option
