Teams – You can now use sign language in meetings

Good news for your meeting participants with hearing issue, they can now use sign language.

When enabling sign language, an interpreter has to be selected which will then be placed in a central and static location to assist participant.

The sign language view is only visible to participant turning it on.

The roll out is currently underway for tenant enabled for preview, expected to start early December for production tenant and early January for GCC-H and DoD.

To turn on the sign language view, access the Accessibility option from the More actions (the ellipsis) menu

Then turn on the sign language option and select a participant to be your preferred signers

You can also set a participant as the signer by opening the More options (ellipsis) of another participant to select Make a signer

Participant designated as signer is identified during the meeting with a signer icon
