As we know, mistakes happen even if there is safeguard in place (like locking deletion activities at the resource group or the resource level; this should be a best practice, especially on any production resource groups or resources).
You can now recover deleted storage account.
To be able to recover a deleted storage account, you need to have the following requirements:
- The storage account has been deleted for less than 14 days
- The storage account must have been created using ARM (this excludes classic storage account; they should not exist or be created anymore anyway)
- A new storage account with the same name than the deleted one has not been created
Then logon to your Azure portal (https://portal.azure.com/) and access the Storage account list to access an existing storage account
Then scroll down to the Support + troubleshooting section to select Recover deleted account
Then use the drop down list to select the deleted account to recover
You will get a notification that a recovery process is in progress
And a last one when the recovery is completed – either successful or failed
