SharePoint Online – New settings available through the administration portal

With the new SharePoint Online administration portal comes new settings being available through the administration portal; some where already available but only through PowerShell.

All these settings are only available through the new SharePoint Online administration portal.

Define a default time zone

You can now define a default time zone, different from the ‘Microsoft default’ (Pacific Time).

To set your default time zone (which then will be applied by default to all new site being created), go to the Settings option from the left menu and reach the Site creation option

Manage the idle session sign-out

This setting was already available through PowerShell only. Now you can manage more easily the idle session sign-out.

Go to the Access control option from the left menu and reach the Idle session sign-out setting
