Office 365 – New tools section available on the administration portal

To simplify the work of Office 365 administrators, and also the support, Microsoft has introduced a new section in the Office 365 administration portal to centralize some tools to help the IT guys in their work.

This section, called Tools, is available at the end of the left menu from the Office 365 administration portal

At this time, tools provided are mainly oriented for checking prerequisites before Office 365 deployment; some are still in beta anyway:

  • Office 365 OnRamp: help to determine the status of your on-premise or cloud configuration, as well as ensure your On Premise environment is ready for Office 365 integration with DirSync and/or Lync/Exchange Hybrid Mode
  • Office 365 Best Practices Analyzer for client and on premise Exchange servers
  • Office 365 Connectivity Analyzer
