As you know you can control Microsoft Edge configuration either using group policies (for Active Directory joined devices) or Intune (for both AD or Azure AD Joined devices).
Well, a new option is now available to manage Edge configuration: the Office 365 administration portal.
This new capability is currently being deployed for targeted tenant, while deployment for standard tenant it is schedule to start late June with completion expected by early July.
To do so, connect to your Office 365 administration portal (https://admin.microsoft.com/) to access the Settings\Microsoft Edge blade with either your global administrator or Edge administrator account.
From there you can create configuration profile(s) which help you to configure settings and extensions
Each profile can only be assigned to 1 Azure AD group, but supports nested groups.
Finally you need to enable the Edge Management Service using the below registry keys
Path: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
Key name: EdgeAdminCenterEnabled
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1
Path: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
Key name: EdgeAdminCenterUseOCPSEndpoint
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 1
If you don’t want to use group assignment to deploy the configuration profile, you can use an enrolment token (token ID) associated with the below registry
Path: HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Edge
Key name: EdgeAdminCenterEnrollmentToken
Type: REG_SZ
Value: <enrolment token of the profile>
Any policies you apply with Microsoft Edge Management Service will be overridden if they conflict with an existing Group Policy Object (GPO) or Mobile Device Management (MDM).
