This blog has been migrated on a SharePoint 2016 server from a
previous SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010 upgrade.
Following my previous post regarding SharePoint publication using UAG (http://blog.hametbenoit.info/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=497), I will now explain how to configure UAG to publish public SharePoint sites.
As for an extranet access, you have to create a trunk.
However, as you will publish a public site, you have to choose 80 port for the trunk.
Then follow the wizard ‘as usual’ (see my previous post about publication using UAG).
Then you have to enable anonymous access.
Go to advanced trunk properties by clicking on the Configure button as shown on the screenshot.
Go to the Authentication tab and disable the option Require users to authenticate at session logon.
If you don’t disable it, Internet client will be redirected to the UAG portal authentication form; this is not something you want for a public site.
However, this is not enough; indeed, when you will connect to your public site, you will have a security window to ask you if you trust the web site or not. This is also something not .. for a public site.
So, to avoid this, you have also to disable Component installation and activation. Go to the Sessions tab and enable the option Disable component installation and activation.
To achieve the publication, add an application as ‘usual’.
Save and activate the configuration.
Et voilà, your public SharePoint site is now published through UAG.
Nicolas Georgeault has published on his blog this information:
following the SharePoint Conference 2009, some people from the SharePoint community (including MVP’s) have contact some editor and partner to launch a magazine to talk about SharePoint.
Here is the first edition of the SharePoint eMagazine; it addresses IT Pro, Developers and SharePoint users point of interest.
Go to http://www.sdn.nl/IW/FreeMagazine/tabid/139/Default.aspx to download this edition.
