If you are using Office 365 Pro Plus (meaning Office Click to Run) and using Microsoft Teams, the latest updates have added an add-on to Outlook to let you create a Teams meeting
You also have this option when creating a ‘classic’ meeting
or with an appointment
When using this add-on, your meeting is created with a link to join the Teams (as this is the case when you create a Skype meeting)
When you click on the link, this will open a web browser and start Teams (if you have some security in place – which I would recommend - you will get a prompt to authorize opening Teams)
If you do not have Teams installed, you will get a link to either join using the web browser or to download and install Teams
