| | mestremoe | Office 365 – Receive your mails from other addresses on Exchange Online | In my experience if you send an email through a connected account, office 365 will send it through its own SMTP, therefore the recipient will see something like: soandso.com on behalf of connectedaccount.com in the From field. This wouldn´t happen if we were able to setup SMTP for each connected account like we can in GMail. As far as I know it cannot be done yet... if you know anything let me know! Cheers. |

| | CarolChi | Office 365 – New features are coming | A couple of months ago I opened an Office 365 P1 plan, mainly for test and demo purposes. I delegated my DNS completely to Microsoft; I lost the DNSSEC setting that I had previously had at GoDaddy. I posted a question and was told that I have to hand over my DNS to Microsoft, and DNSSEC is somewhere in the future. Last week I setup another Office 365 company – Plan P1 no longer exists. I can choose Exchange, Lync, Sharepoint, and so on. Good I thought, more granularity, more flexibility. However I no longer have to transfer my DNS management to Microsoft, but I have to set up a lot of records with my registrar. BAD I think, now I am managing my own DNS entries at Godaddy, based on a complex set of instructions on a website somewhere. When the DNS messes up, who do I turn to? Plan P1 – easy – Microsoft – I completely delegated my DNS to Microsoft. Plan Exchange Online – don't really know, perhaps MS instructions were wrong. Perhaps I copied them wrong, perhaps Godaddy did something wrong too. And if I put in DNSSEC? will it all stop working? No idea, and I don't think I should have to be testing this Office365 can only work for small businesses if Microsoft provide full service. It is doomed if a small business user has to understand DNS, DNSSEC and SRV records.

| | Donlinch | Office 365 – BlackBerry service for Office 365 Beta now available | Sadly I don't see anything about Blackberry Business Cloud Service - it's just the same old message for me ie You can use a variety of mobile phones with Microsoft Office 365 for professionals and small businesses. After you configure the phone’s email settings, you can send and receive Office 365 email, and—if your mobile phone supports it—access calendar and contacts information. Among the mobile phones that can access Office 365 are Windows Phone, Apple iPhone, Android phones, and BlackBerry® devices. Note For BlackBerry devices, when you use Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, you will only be able to send and receive email. To set up email on your phone, go to the Mobile Phone Setup wizard to locate the directions specific to your phone, and then follow the directions for configuring your phone to work with Office 365. |

| | Benoit HAMET | ForeFront UAG / SharePoint – Allow remote blog posting AFTER UAG SP1 | Hello Christophe thanks for your comment. I have only one authentication provider defined on UAG set to request my AD. The SharePoint application with the blog is published through UAG using the following Authentication and Portal Link settings: * Authentication: >> Use SSO not activated >> Select authentication servers set to my AD * Portal link: >> Allow rich clients to bypass trunk authentication enabled >> Use Office Forms based enabled |
| | Christopher Comarato | ForeFront UAG / SharePoint – Allow remote blog posting AFTER UAG SP1 | Thanks for posting this; however, I still can't get it to work. Even with the changes I'm getting the Object Moved error, and if I trace it in Fiddler it looks like I'm seeing an HTTP 302 to the portal authentication page which is why it's failing. What authentication settings do you have set on the web application where you've published your SharePoint blog in UAG? Do you have to only have the Basic authentication provider enabled in Central Administration and only allow Basic authentication on the web app in IIS? Our internal users access via Kerberos, and I would prefer to not have to extend the web application to a completely separate IIS web site just to have only Basic authentication on it. (Note: When I set my existing web app and provider to only Basic I still couldn't get it to work through UAG.) Any help would be very much appreciated! |
| | Adrian Liechti | Office 365 – How to synchronize Office 365 when you have multiple AD Forest | Hi Benoit, i made a test environment, as you described here in you blog. I did this a few month ago with the office 365 beta… my test environment ist very small, so I did only take one domain for synchronizing all identities into and a second one for simulating a country forest… so this means in your case ECM.ERA and EMEA.MYDOMAIN.LOCAL. First time I did this, I registered two public test domains in office 365 for federation. Each domain was the mail domain for one country… after that I did for each domain a separate federation (one in ECM.ERA and one in EMEA.MYDOMAIN.LOCAL)… At this Point I was able to logon SSO with a user in ECM.ERA. it was also possible to logon SSO with a user in EMEA.MYDOMAIN.LOCAL. today I boot up my test environment, the trial period of my beta account was over… so I registered a new test account on the office 365 released edition. I did the same configuration again, first I deleted the federations and the build them with the new office 365 account… now at this point I’m still able to logon SSO with a user in ECM.ERA. But if I try to logon with a user to the EMEA.MYDOMAIN.LOCAL it doesn’t work… I tried to troubleshoot this, but until now without success… the only thing that I see is the following: 1. Logon with the user on https://portal.microsoftonline.com 2. The page recognize the federation and told me to logon on the federation 3. I click on the federation, the forward to the federation server works 4. On the federation page, a basic authentication popup comes up 5. I re enter the username (correct UPN) with password 6. When I check the security log on the domain controller, I can see the correct success authentication of this user… So at this point I’m not sure what I can troubleshoot more… I think there must be a problem on the Microsoft federation gateway in the office 365 cloud… Have you some idea? Any tipps? Thanks in advanced Adrian |
| | whall | Office 365 – Receive your mails from other addresses on Exchange Online | If we connect to another external account, can we send email "as" that other account? IE, like gmail lets me connect a pop/imap account and gmail goes and fetches email from that account. When I reply to an email fetched through that account, it sends the email through smtp servers so the actual gmail address isn't displayed or seen.
